CMC - Bad football is not being coached, it's the players.

Unless we have multiple guys running the wrong routes on lots of passing plays, it is indeed bad coaching because way too often we have three receivers running to basically the same spot. Not a good play when one man can cover all your routes.

In all fairness, tape shows receivers open early on in route development.  Here is the issue - Baker isn’t seeing the field and doesn’t throw at the point the play is designed to be executed at.  By the time he does unload, guys are simply running extended routes that eventually lead them to be close to each other.  Our offensive issues are Bakers fault, plain and simple.

Mayfield has sucked but he's currently 12th in the league in average time to throw at 2.72 seconds. If you need the ball coming out considerably faster than that then it's a flawed offensive design.

McAdoo is just one of these guys who thinks he's a lot smarter than he is. Talking about how he needs to completely reshape a QB's drop for timing, etc. If your offense relies on the ball coming out perfectly on time all the time then you're fuged. There's 11 guys on the other side of the ball trying to disrupt that.

players aren't going to throw the coach under the bus....at least ones that aren't pricks won't.

players do need to own their part in this fiasco (because they do have a role to play in it), but coaches need to fuggin coach up the players. one or two goofing up, i can see it being more on the players.

if it's the whole team that isn't doing it right, they aren't being coached right.

coach 'em up, coach!

    • Lol Atlanta looks to have lost their young edge rusher, has no 1st round pick, a complete mess at QB, a new coaching staff… And we swept them this year. Says what they think of us.
    • I mean, you can only go so far with the propping up. When a guy's numbers are as bad overall as Bryce's you have to try to find specific niches to sell. It's just funny that they're honing in on where he's probably weakest to try to prop him up. Whether it's a pro-Bryce conspiracy or not, it echos my chief complaint about PFF's analysis for years. When your purely statistical analysis badly skews from the eye test of actually watching the games, it should be screaming at you that you need to modify your system not double down on it. PFF is awesome at compiling stats but their grade systems are highly flawed and they never seem to try to improve them.
    • Then why is Byce also last in other PFF stats?  The deep ball thrower stat by PFF can simply be flawed vs some conspiracy trying to prop up a QB on a team that a former employee now works for.  Both of these guys were also hired AFTER the Panthers had already drafted Bryce.  Trying to prop him up with a made up stat while he struggled would be a detriment to their own team honestly.
