Cliff notes:

Basically McAdoo is trash. The RPO game is the staple of our offense and it's trash. We're not feeding our workhorses and Mayfield is a limited QB schematically and we're not playing to his strengths (play action).

Smitty did give the D props. Said their biggest problem is simply getting worn out from being on the field all game.

IMO, it's very clear at this point that Phil Snow has been the reason for Rhule's success. Rhule is the pitchman and Snow is the actual brains behind the operation and that's why Rhule has always coached defensive focused teams with "good enough to get by" offenses. Except "good enough to get by" at Temple and Baylor ain't good enough to get by in the NFL.

that was great thanks

Yeah, loved Smitty giving the defense props.  They’ve been playing about as good as they can considering how shite our offense has been.

The offense basically being RPO without the R was one of my favorite things he said.  Mentioned Foreman is nowhere to be seen, Baker can’t find throwing lanes like he should, while smaller guys like Murray and Brees don’t have those batted ball problems, and ended with a disgusted face asking “what is McAdoo doing?”  I don’t know Stevonne… I just don’t know.

Was also nice to hear him say his two teams are the Panthers and his Utah Utes.  Love hearing him not talk about the Ravens (except for that cool little Suggs story).

always an entertaining time with 89

He is right.  We ran the ball a couple of times to start the third qtr.  We punted, and they tied the game at 10-10.  After that, we passed the ball roughly 20 consecutive times.  By the end of that stretch, we were down 26-16.  20 consecutive throws might work with Mahomes or Brady.  It ain't working with Baker Mayfield.

Smitty doing a lot of posturing and thinking about what to say to not sound like a complete ass.

His unfiltered version is, the players are good enough to win some games if put in the right position to succeed. These coaches are so fuging dumb, they will never put them in that position.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
