Rhule to Nebraska?

Glad he is finding work somewhere. I dont know how in their right mind any team beyond a lower rated small high school program in the middle of nowhere would want Rhule as their coach but more power to him on his ability to sell a ketchup popsicle to any person wearing white gloves. He must talk one heck of a game in an interview is all I can guess. Glad he is anywhere but here. I would prefer a team I hate like the Saints hire him but whatever as long as he is far away from here along with that "process" of his.

Tell me you're emotionally immature without telling me you're emotionally immature.

*Waits for the inevitable pooing of his post for no reason other than childishly holding a grudge over getting waxed in an argument years ago.*

But damn if I'm him I'm in no hurry to start working again lol.

The only thing about sitting out a couple of years is you become an afterthought. Then if he gets back into coaching it's probably a Temple type of program.  It's better for him to get back into coaching now, to Dave Tepper's delight, while he's a hot commodity. Nebraska used to be a powerhouse.  I'm sure they'd love nothing more than for Rhule to turn their program around like he did Temple and Baylor.

Plus Snow ain't getting any younger 😆

He was hugely successful at Temple and Baylor.

He'll be in big demand on the College HC market. For context, both Saban and Meyer both failed in the NFL.

I bet his college focused way of running his team will work better to an it did in the NFL.
Dude is a good college coach, but that is it. Good at guiding children but not men.

I'm glad for the update.  I have no ill wishes against Rhule.  Sure, he sucked as an NFL coach, but he was trying his best.  It's just not good enough.  I do wish him the best of luck in the college ranks, and I hope he never thinks about coaching in the NFL again.

I wouldn't call only two top 25 wins (those being against briefly ranked Navy and ECU teams) "hugely successful". He has shown he can turnaround dumpster fire programs and make them competitive. Which if Nebraska is being honest about itself, that's what they are - a dumpster fire program. And that's why Rhule to Nebraska makes all the sense in the world.

Rhule's  got about 40 million left on his guaranteed contract with the Panthers,

Why would he go coach again.   Ole saying   :    " It's better to not coach and be thought a fool , than to coach and remove all doubt "

Yes, I know the original saying 😉 🍻

    • What's wrong with Damien Lewis? He played pretty well last year.
    • Official NFL Cuts Tracker Deadline for roster cuts is Tuesday, August 26th. At this moment (Friday, August 22nd) the only interesting names I see are... K Caden Davis (BUF) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (NO) LB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) Abdullah, St. Brown, Peoples-Jones I don't exactly think we should cut anybody for but it was just interesting seeing those names. Khaleke Hudson was on the Panthers' practice squad last year I believe and might have even gotten called up? And of course, Caden Davis just because of the question mark at kicker this season for the team.
    • I'll say 6/10. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole. For all the hype surrounding Sanders/Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
