Why would that happen?  The Saints always had a good GM when Payton was there.  Mickey Loomis was there for a long time and they seemed to work together on personnel matters.  I imagine it would be the same type of deal here.

I know it's a tough pill to swallow and would be weird as fug to see him in Panthers colors but you can't deny his cred as a coach. If he helps us win, even the ones who hate the idea will hold their nose and cheer for him.

I'll still be a fan but not certain of the hire.  I get Seifert vibes and the sequel is rarely as successful as the original...  My opinion is really indefensible as its not based on logic or rationale to back it up so anyone who disagrees with this take probably has a good point.
