I just gotta say, especially because I know if you’re posting on an internet message board, you’re one of the bigger fans of the team, nobody here is going to stop watching Carolina play if we get Payton. Especially once we start winning.

This team has sat through failure after failure, this will not be the straw that finally breaks the camel’s back. Regardless of what is posted today.

Yep.

You post on this board, I consider you a diehard or atleast a solid fanatic. Whatever happens, most of us will be here come next year celebrating and/or b**tching about a move made.

Agree I am OUT if they gotta give up any first round picks. No thanks.

if it's a very late first rounder, i'm not going to cry. just the fact that we were good enough to warrant a late first rounder would make it worth it, imo. if we're still picking in the top 10...then we got issues.

Your votes are public. Are you going to leave this forum, throw away your gear, and never come back even when he leads us to a winning season or super bowl? Go on record now. You can't come back when he turns things around and celebrate with us.

Go on record now in this thread for reference purposes.

Dude, posts like this are why the internet sucks.

You think Fitterer wants a guy who'll take full control just like Rhule did?

Joe Person mentioned that a Payton hire could see both Fitterer and Dan Morgan sent packing.

You up for that?

Why would that happen?  The Saints always had a good GM when Payton was there.  Mickey Loomis was there for a long time and they seemed to work together on personnel matters.  I imagine it would be the same type of deal here.

What bugs me the most about the idea is what it would tell me about David Tepper.

We know Tepper is inept (Rhule). We know he is a bad owner (worst stretch in 30 years of history). We know he will make idiotic decisions or try (Watson). We know he refuses any help that will not coddle his ego (including his wife in decisions). We know he has absolutely no clue how this works (trying to interview GMs and then denied and laughed at because he already had one). We know wants money over player safety or respect (turf). We know he is a slimy snake (obvious hedge fund, but rock hill).

You’d have to be extremely naive to learn literally anything about this move.

You can sue him in the state of NC for being a home wrecker. Would offer you a nice settlement to avoid court. This is a real thing in NC, a dude in Huntersville sued eagles DT Fletcher Cox for banging his whore wife and got paid.

The way I feel after reading this is how I would feel if Sean Payton led us to any success.

    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
    • this one is gold:     Bryce has a cult inside the Panthers fanbase that has truly developed some NPC hivemind. I'll never understand how he's captured the true essence of the casual fan like that.
    • "everybody has to earn it, heading in the right direction, feel great about him, get it done at the right time"     Mother fuger
