Can we stop blaming Kasey

Yes the kickoff out of bounds was a mistake, but even if the Pats had to start inside the 20, they still had a good chance to get close enough for the FG.

the Stadium was warm that day, and you can tell by the way all scores where in late 1st half and 4 quarter.

our great defense didn’t sack Brady

Pats had the ball for 39 mins

We allowed 481 yards on defense

we started going to 2 points to early

our defense was extremely tired

we had a hell of a chance to win with all this going against us.

Please stop blaming Kasey, if not for him that year and his winning FG’s all year long, we would not even been in the Super Bowl

All pretty valid points. To me the biggest mistake in that game was starting to chase 2 pt conversions way too early. Thanks Foxy

Other than that. Man was that one heck of a game?

Do you think Falcon fans gonna forget 28-3?

Do you think Seattle fans aint still screaming run the ball?

In my mind, I can think of all kinds of reason not to blame him.  In my heart, I believe that maybe we could have stopped them.

20 years later you decide to make your stand and you can’t even spell the guys name right lol.

I'll cut him some slack on that, because I think I bollixed it in another thread earlier about several factors leading to the Pats championships (and how they could have easily gone the other way).  Hell, that may have been the post that set him off, but if so, he has a thin skin on the subject.

Who knows what happens if that kickoff stays inbounds?  The only guess we have is that if they had gone to OT, it would have probably gone to two since nobody could score in odd-numbered periods and nobody could stop anybody in even-numbered ones.  I guess whoever got the ball first in OT#2 would have been the winner.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
