Having Tepper involved is the reason why the Panthers have been bad since he bought the team. If he was smart, he would stay away and let the football people figure it out but we all know this is not going to happen…and the Panthers will continue to lose.
No coach or GM will be successful until Tepper stops meddling

Its like I said in my next post. Reichs hiring was almost solely depending on who he would be able to bring in and how the staff would be formed.

Hey I’d love it if this were true. It’s kind of dumb to hire a new HC with a short leash in mind, but if that gives Brown play calling quicker I’m down with it.

That's just delaying the inevitable.

The HC might be already on the roster. Promote Evero to HC and see how that goes.

Honestly Evero is the only one on our staff that I want as a potential HC.
Since he will likely be gone in the next season or two.
Which he definitely deserves seeing as he has made the poor man’s defense look like gold.

If Reich doesnt give up playcalling, that could be the death nail of his HC career.

For those who will be at the game now and moving forward, it'd be real funny to get some Oakland A's fan energy into a "sell the team" chant.

I have been one of the few it seems to be practicing patience until after the bye week, but I thought we'd have AT LEAST 1 win by then with some semblance of progress being shown week over week.

Not throwing in the towel just yet, but I'm close. If we end up with the worst record in the NFL with no first round pick and this coaching staff, clean house top to bottom, hire a director of football operations, and sit the fug down and shut the fug up Tepper.

Only one team has made the playoffs starting 0-4.
Towel is already thrown.

What in the world make you want to keep this coaching staff though? Why would we want stability with the worst coaching staff in the league? The right GM, the right staff = winning team and stability. We currently have neither.

We don’t have the roster to attract a good replacement. We’ll also have the reputation for having a terrible owner who won’t give a staff time to learn and figure things out. We’ll just end up with another scrub who needs to be fired in 2 years.

Tepper needs to give these guys more Than 4 games and he needs to figure out why his decision making has been so bad before embarking on his 3rd HC search.

IDC if you like Frank or not... Tepper firing him midway thru his first season is a terrible idea on many fronts.  In the end all if would do is cause chaos and prove to everyone that Tepper is an impulsive idiot.

Too late for that buddy.

If anybody here's hoping for a firing, you're missing the totality of the circumstances of exactly how and why we're fuged as we are.

Tepper won't fire himself. That's what is needed. Him firing his newly hired coach one month into the season will absolutely not make getting a job here enticing. We don't have the history that, say, Dallas does where dudes will absolutely go there and suffer Jerry because it's the Dallas Cowboys.

Ok

that terrible owner paid a lot of money to Rhule

that terrible owner opened the checkbook and gave Reich everything and everybody he wanted

coaches coach. Players play. General managers and scouting get the players

if I’m Tepper and has paid billions and see all the fans walking away, I’m going to be at practice too. There is nothing like ‘management by walking around’

either these are the dumbest, unmotivated, unathletic players around or it’s a coaching problem and it needs to be fixed.

Pretty soon that kind of environment  is gonna make no one want to take a job here at all. I think he needs to ride Reich out the season.

At the end of the day, there are only 32 HC jobs at the highest level of football, and 1 of those is with the Panthers.

People will always be interested in that.

    • Bryce among the 7 players Mark Ross of NFL.com guarantees will get better this season. Today, I am identifying seven players who I guarantee will improve on their 2024 output in the 2025 season. Young took tremendous strides in 2024 after returning to the starting lineup in Week 8 following his benching. He looked far more comfortable in his return and produced with consistency, as he threw for 2,104 yards with 15 TDs and six INTs in the final 10 contests. Most important perhaps is Young's confidence grew immensely down the stretch, leading Carolina to either a game-tying or game-winning drive in six of those games. Now he enters his second season in Dave Canales' system with his best supporting cast to date. The Panthers drafted wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan eighth overall to pair with Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette, who I also believe is poised for a breakout campaign this fall. The 18th-ranked rushing attack from a year ago added Rico Dowdle to complement Chuba Hubbard, giving the team a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. The Panthers have taken the necessary steps to ensure Young's third season will be the best of his career, and now it's up to him to not only continue to grow as a player but prove why he was worthy of being taken No. 1 overall in 2023. I believe that's what he will do. https://www.nfl.com/news/which-nfl-players-will-improve-in-2025-c-j-stroud-deebo-samuel-among-guaranteed-risers
    • While it's fair to question how impactful a player's relationship with a coach is (especially if someone has questions regarding said coach), it's important to also evaluate the difference between the players here. Jordan Fuller was pick #199 in the 6th round while Justin Simmons was #98 in the 3rd round. Jordan Fuller might have gotten a Super Bowl ring while he was with the Rams, but he got it while on the IR. Justin Simmons, on the other hand, is a x2 Pro-Bowler (2020, 2023), x4 second-team All-Pro (2019, 2021 - 2023), and was the NFL co-leader in INTs (2022). Simmons has also fallen off in the last couple of seasons though, grade-wise. He very well might not be that same player, which could be why the Falcons have elected to replace him with Fuller. As far as getting the best out of what he has, asking him to produce with a starting DL of A'Shawn Robinson (63.56% of the defense's snaps), LaBryan Ray (51.48%), and Shy Tuttle (50.08%) isn't reasonable. Wonnum only played in 8 games, but had the second most % of snaps (37.27%) at EDGE behind Clowney (53.53%). The second-string DL based on snap % was... and don't read this if you just ate... Charles Harris (34.48%), DeShawn Williams (27.67%), and Nick Thurman (19.7%). The second-string EDGEs based on snap count would be DJ Johnson (32.27%) and Cam Gill (18.14%). With the investments made in the run defense this season though, especially on the defensive line, it's more than fair to demand a complete turn around from last season.
