LT and Center are Concerning.

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Samac ends up starting. Hes spent a year with us and it’s possible our staff feels like he can be a decent starter. We wouldn’t have let Mays go if we didn’t feel confident in replacing him. I feel we could also find some cheap vets or draft a center.

Tackle is the bigger issue. We don’t know if Icky will even come back to be a starting level tackle. Moton is 31 and we need his replacement as well. Drafting a tackle in the first would be the best option. We also need some depth if one gets injured. Yijman is a great option and so is BC but we don’t know when he’ll be back

We need to nail the left tackle whether through draft or signing, we cannot afford for Bryce to regress.

I will word that a little differently. We can’t afford him the easy excuse of a shambolic OL, if he does regress. We need to have that squared away.

Any regression going on, if any, needs to clearly be in his area of responsibility. This is the last chance for gas exit. We can’t afford being fooled and stuck like Tua or Murray or any of those scenes.

center is not a position of focus in the NFL, you can get the best center in the draft in the second/third round and pair him with Corbett. now LT is a real problem I suspect they bring back Yoshi and pair him with a rookie and pray for the best.

I will word that a little differently. We simply need good offensive line play regardless of anything else.

There's still more signings to be had.

Come draft, Monroe Freeling T is my favorite pick on offense in R1 for us.  Lomu T could be good as well.  If we go some one like CJ Allen or McNeil-Warren, then a R2 target like Max Iheanachor T and Caleb Tiernan T would be nice.

Center is important but you can get a starter in R3, we don't need to reach there.  Lew looks good. Also think we will still do something, need vet insurance even if we're going to draft one.

    • Mmm yes, the mythical Sam Howell. The guy that 32 teams passed up for 5 rounds. The guy that then couldn’t beat out Carson Wentz and Taylor Heinicke. The guy that when given the keys to the car, got benched multiple times in games for Jacoby Brissett. The guy that Seattle loved so much they never considered him for a second after moving on from Geno Smith and traded for a loss to roll with Drew Lock as a backup. The guy that Minnesota then traded for a loss to roll with Max Brosmer and Carson Wentz as backups. The guy who then could not supplant Tanner McKee as a backup despite McKee being injured. The guy who hasn’t logged a snap since 2024 despite being healthy. This is the guy you are using to say the FO isn’t serious about winning. Well, at least it’s not quite as bad as Trey Lance. Consider for a moment that the FO may possibly think more of Kenny Pickett than Sam Howell (it seems like most of the league does), and they’re paying Pickett pretty much top of the market for backups. I get it, he’s not my first choice either, but to go all in on the no competition narrative just because he’s not your favorite “what if” is a bit much.
    • The #Panthers have re-signed DE LaBryan Ray ahead of restricted free agency, the team announced. My understanding is they'd like to have the bulk of their restricted free agents back. https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/2031366843886108788?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Ummmmm, no. Plenty of centers will be around in rounds 3 and 4. Unless one of the stud LB or edges drop (or Downs), it is hopefully one of the following: OT (Mauigoa, Freeling, Fano) DB/S (McCoy, Thieneman)  WR (Lemon) LB (Allen)
