Dak just got a contract!

What a huge investment. Could end up crippling the team for years if Dak doesn't come back 120% of what he used to be. I mean, he hadn't gotten a Lombardi yet... best I can tell he's only won one play-off game so  far.

$160 million for four years. Wow. Just flabbergasted.

Interesting tidbit:

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30986204/with-contract-hand-dallas-cowboys-quarterback-dak-prescott-deliver

The Cowboys selected Prescott in the fourth round of the 2016 draft. He wasn't even their first pick in the fourth round as a compensatory pick, No. 135 overall. And he wasn't even their first choice. Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones was crushed he could not trade back into the first round to take Paxton Lynch. They wanted Connor Cook in the fourth round.

They settled for Prescott and got lucky. Really lucky.

I was once one of those talking bout " Dak is average, just a Dallas/OL thing derp derp derp...." Did everyone forget his start....hold on...

And what was their record in those 5 games?  1-4?  Something like that?  He had to throw for that many yards because his D was swiss cheese.  Its generally not a good thing to have your QB throwing for that many yards.  That usually means you are losing....

    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
    • I'd give anything to go back to a 4-3 but we are so removed from having the pieces for that. All because Tepper wanted to force this 3-4 on all our coaches.
