Interesting Panther related broadcast notes.

“you know DJ Moore would have caught that one” referring to a well thrown red zone fade that was off the finger tips of the receiver.

Just as important as "DJ Moore would've caught that" is "DJ Moore wouldn't have nearly blown his Achilles trying to go get that one"

Great arm, great mobility, struggled throwing to the right sidelines a bit. I believe this isn’t going to be the draft class with 4 QBs gone before 8. We can sit at 8 and grab him I believe.

I’d rather trade up for Fields at 3. Will settle for Lance at 8.

We haven't had a QB that can rip it since 2017.. It's been long enough. I'd be happy with any of the top 4 QBs.

Cam was very good in 2017 but I wouldn't describe what he was doing as ripping it lol his arm by that Eagles game was already looking kinda bad

My favorite aspect of this pro day was the tidbit mentioned by Daniel Jeremiah during the broadcast.

During the off-season Lance's QB coach, Quincy Avery, reached out to a bunch of NFL scouts, execs, insiders etc. They complied a list of what they called "QB needy" teams.

Lance and Avery then broke down film together of all those teams and then crafted this entire workout with throws, plays, reads etc that are prevalent in those teams' offenses.

Absolutely brilliant move to endear yourself to a team by showing you can run their offense and make their throws. I'm sure the coaches love the attention to detail and commitment to incorporating those throws and concepts as well.

If we end up drafting this guy more people are gonna start reading up on him and fall in love. Dude just has that “it” factor. Physical traits aside he is a GREAT person and eager to learn and be coached.

Lance def had several Sunday throws that not every prospect is capable of dropping in. He did have some overthrows and a few off-target too. Footwork looked solid, his movement from under center and "shotgun" looked great and he threw with a purpose on the run. He also had a few "ooooohs and ahhhs" kind of pretty throws too.

As long as folks are patient with him, no reason he won't be a great pick for us long-term.

I loved everything about him

and, didn’t get to see running or other normal combine skills

very calm demeanor.  Strong. Very strong.  Yes he missed a few to the right but in fairness he hasn’t played but one game this year

there is no way the Falcons are passing on him

thete is also no way the Falcons would trade with the panthers either

btw, I read an interesting projection that the Falcons are trading Ryan, their top d player and several number one picks for Watson

that little mean nothing win against Washington sure is going to cost a great deal  stupid

    • That's not totally the case. It is hard to discuss future without a crystal ball, you look at the past the to assess and project, and there is a lot of on field negative from year one. Some people say throw it out. You can’t dismiss things that were on him and not the OL or Reich or Chark or Mingo etc., if you want the real story.  Only Young can tell where that goes and everybody just has to wait for real football. That footwork is not just people picking on him, it is probably a huge barrier to his potential success. All the passing comes from a base and if it off the throws are hard to trust.  OTA optimism is fools gold tbh. We have seen the skins and shirts all stars enough times to know what that is. We will need real football at real football game speed which we won’t get even in preseason.  That said I expect him to somehow make his way to somewhere in QB tiers or rankings to maybe low 20s. Gotta win 6 at least for that.  My opinion is if they can make a playoff run with a 4th tier QB then fine but I’d just as soon go over to the side of those who for years held out for a QB capable of talking to and winning a SB. I am not thinking he is that guy so far but taking this year to find out is necessary.
    • Good lawd, look at the amount of rotation required for a mere 40-yard pass. No wonder he needs a runway for any throw beyond 50 yards.  Can you think of any NFL quarterback today who has a weaker arm than Bryce? For reference, with a similar amount of hip rotation, Stroud slung the ball 69 yards. https://x.com/VatorSports/status/1728845724434186374
    • I think the issue is there isn't any more of these posters still active on this site.  Everyone I see posting now either doesn't like Bryce or wants to see him in a better situation to make a better assessment.  I think everyone agrees he has work to do in order to show us he can become the QB we need him to.  Who knows if he will or if he can, but there are definitely other conversations to be had without being stuck on repeat and every thread turning into the same one.  It sounds like you need to find the Bryce Fan Boys from before the draft and just vent/hash it all out with them somewhere.
