Like he has a choice now.

Several of his accusers are submitting evidence and signed affidavits to the Houston district attorney on Monday.

Buzzbee is requesting a criminal grand jury as well.

This trade stuff is over.

You can bet your ass had Watson never demanded a trade that this crap would have never come out until well after his career was over.

This is Houston's way of saying, If he doesn't play for us, he'll play for no one.   I have no doubt this was started by the Texan organization, none whatsoever.

If the women produce evidence, Watson will be destroyed.   I'm glad we didn't trade for him and then Houston put this out.

there can be two wrong parties in a single event. it's too early to call what exactly deshaun's issue is/was, but it's not with the lawyer representing these women on a case he would have NEVER pursued if not for trying to gain favor from the McNair family and further cement his alleged friendship. he's the same idiot that posted all those billboards about drafting johnny manziel around houston. someone that invested and with that many conflicting interests should recuse themselves instead of collecting allegations via instagram. he's a hack. if there's any heat to this at all he needs to be excused from the case by the judges. the timing is entirely slanderous and the way it was timed almost seems like it was done in concert with the Texans who probably whistled for him before these dogs got released and he didn't change his position. if all this amounts to is a bunch of women being solicited for sex and showing up voluntarily and having consensual sex they later decided was coerced, it's going to be a damn shame. but if you lay with dogs, you tend to get fleas. if you go digging around instagram for broke but beautiful women as someone worth $100 million in this day and time, your judgment needs to be brought into question. if that was how he wanted to get down he should have been smart enough to print out a stack of non-disclosure agreements and sex contracts to protect him against this exact thing. if the stories are authentic as told then he obviously needs to be punished to the extent of the crime, but what a grimy ass way to play it,.

I'm no fan of the Texans' ownership and I get why they're hated, but the OP's article lays out a pretty clear case that the team holds all the cards in this standoff.  Watson will be forced to play this season if he hopes to avoid taking an extremely significant financial hit.

So why would the Texans ruin Deshaun's reputation/future to play in the NFL, when all they have to do is wait for him to cave due to financial pressure or trade him for a boatload of picks/players?

Attacking Deshaun's reputation while he's under contract would likely destroy both of those options.  It would be like killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
