Bringing Cam back

I would bring him back - so long as Rhule is NOT back.

If you give Cam an entire offseason to work with his teammates and learn the offense, he can hold down the fort for a year or two more.  We need to buy that time while the rebuild that was supposed to be happening now is actually done.  You aren't going to fix all our problems in one offseason, but you can fix a lot.

I know we'll never see 2015 Cam again, but I do think he can be 2018 Cam again.  That Cam was pretty darn good until TJ ended him.

People really don't understand the game of football and how important it is that your quarterback has time within the offense he's playing in to learn the playbook and get the timing down within the scheme with motions, progressions and overall chemistry with his teammates. Cam hasn't been afforded that opportunity yet. With the Patriots or the Panthers. He had 5 weeks to learn the Patriots offense and playbook. He had a whole 1.5 weeks to learn ours before he started a game. What can you honestly expect him to do? He has not had a full offseason with a team since the 2019 season when he got hurt in the preseason. Hopefully he comes back next year but I doubt it.

There's a lot of wisdom in this.

But it requires changing regimes. Cam has some limitations, but it isn't him that built this team or dumbed down the coaching/game planning to the point that it's no longer a professional team.

Rhule's ability to evaluate the roster and start the best 11 is a 0 on a scale of 10 until proven otherwise.  I know Rivera drove us all nuts doing stuff like leaving Norwell on the bench and singlehandedly prolonging Amini Silatolu's NFL career a good five or six years more than it should have lasted, but this stuff with Brady Christensen is next level.  His Temple fixation goes without saying.  Ron had "his guys" but at least he wasn't bizarrely fixated on only playing dudes from Cal or something.

Can't fault the motivation for bringing the guy back.  Cam instantly energized the fan base and his new teammates, even if it was only for a few games.

Unfortunately, it appears for the moment as if Cam is the hero in a Greek Tragedy.

the rollercoaster ride for the fans has been worth it?

The tease of something better than what we are, until the crash back to reality?

Cam is easily the best option over the 2 turds the idiots running the team went into the year with. Yes, even an old and run down Cam is better than the 2 duds this staff just loved lol.

Of all of the people to be mad with, why Cam? He literally brought a litmus test to the situation and we all know now that this staff is not qualified to be in the NFL. It's confirmed.

The fact Rhule dislikes him and sends in his reject who puts up worse numbers quicker is just making everything easier, as a team and fan base.

Thank you Cam, you made this year somewhat fun for a time and helped exposed the morons running the team.

Even Dalry, Erving and Elf are not to blame. They stink and shouldn't be employed but that is still on the staff.

I'd like to have Cam back next year with a new coaching staff and a better revamped offensive line to see what he truly has. Can't tell anything right now. Put Tom Brady behind that line and he would look bad in every way then people would be screaming he lost it/needs to retire. Put any QB in the NFL behind that line and I'm willing to bet they all look like ass. If new staff and a reworked O-line I would bring Cam back another year for sure to at least see what he could do then judge it from there. Bare minimum if appropriate steps taken to rid the organization of Rhule and his boys as well as try to fix the line we should at least bring Cam to camp and give him a chance to fight for a roster spot.

The Temple thing wasn't about getting guys on the field he knew could play. It was about getting guys in the locker room that would create an instant culture and he could count on for loyalty.

Cam was brought back because we had no qb on the roster even the people on here that said start PJ he’s never lost. I guess now they understand he sucks as well. Tepper knew he would be losing money with no fans coming and empty seats. It’s just about money with Tepper, we definitely picked the wrong owner. But to all the soccer fans here in Charlotte congratulations, y’all have something to look forward to. That’s all he cares about!

We didn't, the NFL did.  And he paid in cash...

When the owner brings back the guy YOU fired....

Oh No Fire GIF

Tepper knew Cam before he knew most of the people now running the team. Comfort level anyone? Who do you think will have the kings ear going forward?

Who has more of a chance of being here next year? Rhule or Cam? Lolz

Cam had one legit bad game.  Miami.  That’s it.

Cam isn’t the problem.  Matt Rhule’s OL and offensive play calling is.

yeah, he had a pick 6 on Sunday but that was more of a great defensive call play.  QBs sometimes just aren’t going to see defenders.   The defensive call was perfect.

    • When you have to bring up college to defend Young after there is 16 games of tape its probably best to delete the post before hitting submit.   His college play is totally and completely irrelevant at this point.
    • Yes... he threw some beautiful deep balls to Williams 3 years ago.... but he didnt do it the next year at alabama or last year in the NFL.  This has already been pointed out and serves hardly any purpose to be relevant now. Its the same as someone still posting his college highlights. Mingo couldnt make any adjustments because bryce flat out missed him.   Mingo stat. Lost yards on uncatchable balls - Carolina Panthers - Carolina Huddle
    • They won't draft another QB the owner loves him lol. And once they pay him his help level will decrease. What a waste of a great roster and coaching staff. The media wrote them off half way through the season last year because they were so weak against contenders. McDan will get fired after that extension when they are still not winning in the postseason and I am curious how he matures through that process. His 2nd HC gig could get someone a SB, his talent is there for sure.  The bar is so low it's in the ground. People are just losing their minds with another Tepper quality Panther year lined up while others are just doing fan things, irrational to anyone but them but that is also normal in any fandom. I go away for a bit and come back for the laughs. Poor fans, it's freaking bleak and this go around isn't much better than the last just some changes in the SSDD approach that has been the norm the last couple of years. Sign the best OGs for too much and then use scraps at center just lol.
