Is drafting a QB the plan now?

pure speculation on my part

Does the Bozeman signing provide a clue?

After the Corbett signing I was thinking an O-line like this: LT(pick 6), BC, Elflein, Corbett, and Moton.  Was actually pretty happy about this.

After the Bozeman signing though maybe the line looks like this:  BC, Elflein, Bozeman, Corbett, and Moton.  What is the chance we have convinced ourselves that BC is "good enough" that we can now use the first pick on a QB?

Showing progress with a rookie QB would definitely be one way to keep your job, and they have definitely spent some resources on the O-line to help whatever QB succeed.

Like I said this is all just speculation, maybe they just move Elflein to a backup job, maybe the line will be LT(pick 6), BC, Bozeman, Corbett, and Moton.

If that truly is what they want to roll with, I hope we decide to take an Edge rusher or some other position and not a QB.  None of these jabroni ass QBs are worth the 6th pick in the draft.  They would be Day 2 picks in any normal QB year.

There’s not a QB in this class that helps Rhule win now which is what he will need to do to save his job.

It’ll probably be Minshew or Jimmy G leading the offense which is whatever… but on the other hand, drafting Cross, Ekwonu, or Neal at six and having a line of… Cross/Ekwonu/Neal - Christensen - Bozeman - Corbett - Moton is something to be excited about.

I have to agree with you on this. But all bets are off with Rhule making the call.

I don’t think they sign these guys to short term contracts with the idea of having a transition season with a rookie QB. Tepper isn’t going to care if we go 8-9 with a rookie QB. He wants a winning team. Why else would they consistently look to give up draft capital for established QBs?

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
