Tepper says 5 year minimum for Rhule.

Lol, Tepper still makes $ on this franchise and the buildings by using them for not just the Panthers, but other events. Hes not hurting on long build or floundering around. Well as long as enough tickets are sold and don't go truly unsold from the Panthers (attendance be damned) he won't hurt. Now maximizing $ on game day sales, yeah that's hurting with the stadium not being full, and that's on a poo product the Panthers currently provide and not all opposing teams are going to travel enough to fill up the stadium with panther fans staying home.

I am still a little perplex what Rhule/anyone has said that keeps Tepper on board for 2 more after 2022. That's crazy pants. If they regress the next 2 years is he really going to give a crazy 5th year. Heck if he get another vet QB and again regresses or treads water, another year after a 3rd wrong QB eval?

I'll grant Rhule this: his D progressed thru year 1 and again from year 1 ending thru most of year 2. Now part of that was it regressed from before Rhule to his 1sr half of year 1 (one of the worst in history). Also the offense flamed out hard and regressed from year 1 to year 2, would say St was pretty poor all 3 years too. 2 steps back for every step forwards gotta stop. He needs to atleast maintain on D or progress on all fronts this year or why keep the this poo going.

This is counter cultural for typical management. When dudes as smart as Tepper do things that are patient and counter cultural….it usually pays off.

Has Tepper’s way been patient?   He keeps saying Rome wasn’t built in a day when his record is referenced.

But Tepper isn’t actually patient.  Part of the problem IMO.   Which has lead to poor decisions.

Well nothing other than 'i just fired him' would have made most of you happy.

- Some positives I take from that statement is that we dont need to reach for a QB.
- Rhule and Fitt can draft their board without drafting for the short term

If we suck this year, Rhule will be gone. But as an owner you need to give assurances to your people that their jobs are safe until THE MOMENT you fire them or else they male dumb decisions.

Yeah, it's time to revert back to my pre-Peppers fandom. General NFL fan with favorite players I like to watch more so than favorite teams with a casual interest in the Panthers as the local team but with nothing concrete to solidify myself as a true Panthers fan. I mean, that's basically where I am. Tepper has stripped everything I loved away from the Panthers so yeah... that's kinda where I'm at. I don't anticipate watching a whole lot of Panthers games moving forward. I'll pay attention to see if there any signs of change or evolvement but I'm not expecting it.

Very good - can you officially be stripped of your moderator role (if you still have it) of a Panthers fan board since you won’t be paying much attention to the Panthers?

The Huddle big brains really think Tepper publicly trashing the head coach and QB of his football team is conducive to building a functional football organization lol.

Lol exactly.  I’m amazed at how dumb people can be.

    • Given the draft makeup after the top-10 or so, I feel many teams are going to be hoping for trade downs. Which makes downward movement a bit more tricky.  So they may just go for the best impact they see fit and surprise.  I mean, can use someone at all levels of our defense (ILB, DE, S and Slot). Offense need more OL bodies and could use another WR. No way we can be zeroed in on a particular position.  Makes me damn curious to our board and how they’re weighing immediate vs long term impact.  I still see multiple guys rather than positions in play. S: Thieneman, McNeil-Warren ILB: Rodriguez, Allen DL: Faulk, McDonald WR/TE: Saddiq, Cooper, Boston, Conception OL: Freeling, Proctor, Lomu, Iheanachor Heck, even the EDGE group in our range is interesting like Parker. - Then there’s these guys that are in that 19/51 fringe range that seem to be really good fits-Haulcy, J Rod, Golday, etc.
    • I guess I could see it if we got breaks, but we got the breaks this year and it was still 8 wins.   Also I dont see TB crumbling, they are a competent franchise that hit the injury bug last year I dont know what to think about NO so theres that. Atlanta majorly upgraded at coach so there is always something to having a competent grown up leading a team.
    • Glad he's coming back but honestly surprised. I guess the new staff convinced him there was going to be PT for him. It was baffling how Hubert never played him. Its not like we were a top 10 type team looking like a contender and had it all figured out. We should've been giving him opportunities. There was no reason not to. Utter lack of bench development and hard headedly running his starters into the ground because he was afraid to go to his bench was an knowing issue with Hubert that he just wasn't growing out of with more HC experience. If you don't play them how are they supposed to develop? And his starters could do no wrong. Didn't matter what they did, they wouldn't get yanked and their playing time wouldn't decrease. But if a bench guy came in and made one mistake he was probably getting buried for three or four games. That's a recipe for your starters playing sloppy and your bench playing tight and scared. Saw it year after year.
