There’s no question he has all the tools to be a franchise qb …. But like most jobs it’s the soft skills , it’s your character, are you willing to sacrifice ego for the betterment of the team ? New York is a hard place to play while young …. If this doesn’t humble this kid nothing wil(getting bench and learning how to react without ego) .. if he somehow gets over himself he will be a killer if he buys in and motivated !!!!

Everyone knew very early on Wilson was going to the Jets.  That said most people will hype up a QB based on measurables and pine for that player.  Finding a great QB is incredibly hard so this will not change.

Seriously I totally agree that you keep swinging on QBs until you hit.  No choice really unless you give someone like Lamar Jackson the keys to the city

The irony of this thread is that Wilson was the 2nd overall pick and the same guy multiple posters were slamming the table for us to trade multiple 1sts to move up and draft. It's almost like sucking into the consensus #2 rookie qb prospect isn't necessarily a surefire strategy. And yet one too many posters are getting pissed we're not doing that.

Yep I got roasted for saying the opposite. BYU is 15 minutes south of me. I hear all the talk. They have an elite oline program and had one of the best in the nation when Wilson was here. Even most avid BYU fans around here said he isn’t going to make it.

Yet the huddle informed me I was completely wrong and a hater and he was the next Mahomes.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
