I have no more interest or curiosity in the Wilks experiment.

Barring a trip to the NFC conference championship,im just not interested in seeing anymore from this team with Wilks at the helm. Better than Rhule, yes. Not good enough.

Until we can hire a new breed of coach, I'm done with this team. No more getting outclassed, out coached, and out performed by bad teams.

Sorry (not) I have standards beyond "the players like him and he's a local product."

I want more for this team than Wilks can deliver.

Perfectly said. At least some people in Charlotte have standards.

It was mentioned last week that this game against Tepper's old team would go a long way in deciding Wilks's fate.

I can't believe they allowed Pittsburgh to absolutely out muscle them.  Pittsburgh was playing with a nasty attitude, and you could tell we never matched it.

The entire game plan was abysmal and we didn't make one adjustment.

We were totally outplayed, outcoached and outclassed by a bad Pittsburgh team.

Afc north is still smash mouth both sides of the ball. Thet want to stomp your ass into the ground. They may not have the flash of the others (bar burrow) but they are all big strong bust your ass. They imposed their will and won against the best smash mouth team in the NFC south. Just puts how soft the division really is into perspective.

I'm not totally done with wilks based on the crap he was given and what snow/rhule did up front, but fitt should have a clear as day plan on the front 4 on D and front 5 on O. Needs to show a lot more cause the 3rd down percentage by the Steelers was unacceptable. Taylor needed to come off the field cause he couldn't do poo in coverage or tackling against the run.

The thing that surprises me the most about you old school posters is your posting is still so much about raw emotion and so little about football. I was disappointed yesterday in the loss, but this should not be a end all be all to your thoughts on Steve Wilks. He has made this team somewhat respectable this last 65% of the season. Did he inherit some new players since he took over? No, he didn't. Yes, they beat Seattle last week in somewhat convincing fashion. But, this team is still the same team that is massively devoid of talent at these positions, DE, DT, CB, TE, OLB, and quarterback! Everyone is shitting on the gameplan, but what are they supposed to do? Explain to me what they are supposed to do to not struggle to get outperformed the rest of the year with Sam Darnold(backup PJ) and the rest of the Rhule roster. Also, let's not forget he also inherited a OC that was peeled off the scrap heap because no one wanted to work with Rhule! What is there to do but try and run so the game is not solely on Darnold?

As far as the game went, seriously they tried to run. The Steelers stacked the box. They passed and Darnold did ok, but it was still Sam Darnold. He missed wide open throws and navigated the pocket like cat with mittens on a glass table. On defense they ran press man and Keith Taylor got beat on a prayer throw in the first half. They then went zone and the players still struggled because the roster needs more talent. Adjustments were made and players played to the best of their ability and they still got beat is what I saw.

Let's be honest, Wilks was never supposed to have this good of a showing and garner this kind of support. It would have looked bad to immediately come out and be negative about Wilks. But some did it anyway and called it common sense while they did it. So after not winning out, dropping a game, I know it does feel a bit better to do it now. I'll be honest, other than Shane Steichen, OC for the Eagles, I truly believe Wilks plus a new OC is the best bet for the immediate future.

Me thinks too many ppl have forgotten football is entertainment. It is not life or death. If your emotional well-being is enhanced by not watching, then don't.

I love watching Panther wins. But it changes nothing. I don't go around kissing strangers.

Conversely, I hate watching losses. But it also changes nothing. I don't go around kicking the dogs afterwards.

If you go to a bad movie, do you quit going to movies? No, because you know it's just entertainment. Same with football.

As an aside. Let me get this straight. We have 2 mods who have given up, a handful that are never here, and 1 that comes and goes. This place could get very interesting.

Oh, and hey @uncfan888and @mrcompletely11here's another post you can poo. You're welcome.

Pittsburgh probably chuckling so hard at our “identity” in the post game locker room.  A complete team doesn’t need an “identity”, they adapt to the weakness presented.  We approached this game with the same plan we took to Seattle and Tomlin had his team ready for it.  We had no more chess moves once that was obvious.

It was an embarrassing defensive performance.  I can’t recall being beat to the edge so often.  Tackling was a huge issue throughout the game.  Put Taylor in hopeless positions throughout the game.

Overall, I just didn’t see the team really given an opportunity to compete.  Never went tempo, abysmal lack of screens, ran the predictable play over and over.  A vanilla game plan exposed.

To sum it up in two words : "Bad Coaching"!

A team finally stopped the run and we were forced to pass. Darnold was having a good day and they still tried to force the run and shelter him. If we want to win out then we have to believe that Darnold can take over a game throwing the ball.

Absolutely no one believes Darnold can take over a game throwing the football.  That fact will remain regardless.  He can move the chains, maybe. But do not fall under the illusion that he will ever take over a game with throwing the ball. If we cannot run the ball we do not have a chance to win. It's that simple.
