Who wants Bryce to fail?

I think it’s the “we must find our QB” obsession that’s gotten us into trouble in the first place. We have to regain our culture and rebuild the roster. Take the wins and progress as they come and reevaluate in the offseason.

Years of bad drafting has gotten us into trouble. Trading 5 premium players for Bryce Young was just the cherry on top - the death knell of the franchise.

We're years away from digging ourselves out of that hole - but Legette, Sanders, Coker and Wallace are a very good start.

He's been the worst quarterback in pro football for most of his career and game managed his way to two wins against bottom of the barrel teams. Let's be real here.

On the other end you have fans already planning the future around him because he's proven capable of rising to mediocrity for the win.

He's got a long way to go before we should even be thinking about him long term. The only reason this thread exists is because doing the bare minimum is progress for Bryce.

Just raise your hand here so you don’t have to ruin every positive thread when Panthers win.

It’s one thing to be critical of Bryce when he deserves it but some of the hate on this board is just weird.  Stop trying to sugar coat it and admit you don’t want Bryce to do anything well because you have moved on forever and are looking to confirm your bias regarding his NFL future

I wanted him benched too but every time he steps on the field I want him to succeed and do well. He still has a long ways to go but I think he can be a Brock Purdy type of QB with the right pieces around him.  And yes Purdy was not the top QB selected in the draft but 49ers gave up a haul for Trey Lance. You take the hand you’re dealt and don’t think about the sunk cost.

He isn't Brock Purdy in that example, he is Trey Lance.

I genuinely don’t think there is a single Panthers fan who wants Bryce to fail. There’s a big difference between actively rooting for someone’s failure, and just observing the obvious. I didn’t personally think before the 2023 season “omg I hope Bryce fails I hate him” I was cautiously optimistic although admittedly skeptical because I had seen him play in college and he had a lot of red flags that seemed to be totally ignored in the draft process. But now? I don’t think he’s going to be the franchise QB for this team, he’s obviously too physically limited, but he might have a long career in the NFL as a backup and game manager. He’s just not the caliber of player who should have been taken #1 overall. He was wildly overhyped because he went to Alabama and the Panthers drank the proverbial kool ade. So long story short no, I don’t hope he fails, at this point I know he’s a failure relative to what the Panthers paid to get him.

Serious question for the box score folks? Did you actually watch the game or are you criticizing purely off 125 yards? An if you did watch the game, what would you say Bryce did poorly?

Missed Chuba to ice the game. Easy throw. Didn’t give Coker a chance on a deep ball. He just ain’t got the arm talent. Now…I do have one praise, his throw to David Moore in the red zone was perfect everything with really good coverage.

I have always wanted Bryce to prove me wrong. I’ve never hoped for his demise.

I said it in another thread: He is our very expensive bridge QB who has now made Dalton expendable.

He CAN at least throw some passes, and a good amount of his throws have been on point. My main interest is seeing our line and new pass catchers evolve. Coker, X, and Sanders have shown real talent and it can’t be allowed to get stale.

Let him and Thielen walk. Plummer is backup QB. We now have the capital to sign Horn.

I think we really need Andy to come in and remind everyone what it is supposed to look like. He's had his rest. And if he can't then we'd better find someone. Because Bryce as an NFL QB is down here and even a top 20 NFL QB is way up there.

Wanting and knowing he has/will are two different things

Even the anti-Bryce people before the draft then got on board to hoping he’d be good once we made the pick

But this ship has sailed, he’s a bust for exactly what everyone saw before the draft, he doesn’t any the physical capabilities to be a starting NFL QB

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
