Did I say Rhule was going to be crap as an NFL coach? I never hinted at such a thing.

You don't know that those guys will be three quality starters. You think they will be because of early results. That said, like every other draft, it takes a few years to know for sure.

Never claimed that I know if they will be a success. That is projection on your part.

You claim that what Rhule and Fitterer's predecessors did doesn't matter, yet you bring up Johnson as historical proof that you're in the right. Doesn't work that way. What Johnson did doesn't matter to what Rhule and Co will do since what their predecessors did doesn't matter. You can't have it both ways.😉

What does matter is that Rhule was half of a leadership team that produced bad results(a losing season since this in the NFL along with some player issues). Rhule doesn't get a magical do over just because his first partner has been replaced. He not only needs to learn from his mistakes, but also those his predecessors made.

Theres a difference between general examples and specific ones.

Many new coaches have had rough first years then turned out fine. And what's additionally consistent with all of those examples is this:

Nothing any of their predecessors did mattered.

Same as now, Rhule will either have the skill and the knowledge to succeed or he won't purely on his own merit.

I look at last year like this:  Is CMC worth two wins a year?

I believe he is.  I may be right or wrong, but I think having CMC in your lineup for 16 games is worth a couple wins.  In which case, we see last year as 7-9.

Brand new coach and staff comes in.  Takes over a very old team that completely gave up.  cleans the roster out nearly completely.  No offseason to speak of.  No preseason.

How many games did we lose by one score?

5-11?  Without CMC?  That's an amazing season.  We're going to be even better this season.  Yea, we have question marks.  So do the other teams.

This season was never slated to be a playoff year for us.  This is the year we see the foundation of what we're building.  That's all.  If we win 9 games this year it would be way ahead of schedule.  7 or 8 is probably about right.

Relax and enjoy the ride.

Just wait, I think there maybe a quick hook for some of the OLmen. Rhule said over and over hes looking for the best 5. I think this is best 5

LT- Moton

LG- Daley

C- Paradis

RG- Brown

RT- CHrist

Erving is the top backup across the line. Elf is the #3 C/OGs.

Whatever the number of draft picks, use half on the OL.

    • While I'd love to add him, it just doesn't make sense for where we are at in our re-build right now. The only teams who should be interested are those who have a very legitimate shot at winning the SB this season, as any team who makes the trade is going to be mortgaging their future to make the move. Teams who make these kinds of trades and then give them the massive contract, in the hopes that it will expedite their path to contention, ALWAYS ends up backfiring because they have to give up the 1st round picks that are then needed to help build out the rest of the roster after eating up such a significant chunk of the cap on the new contract. There is no way the Cowboys trade him for anything less than 2 future 1st rounders (and probably more), plus we'll have to make him the highest paid non QB in league history.  Not to mention that it would then have made the Scourton and/or Princely picks a bit of a waste, as those 2nd and 3rd round picks would have been better off used on a ILB or DB
    • Like his approach to pre season that's ro get them out there and play together for a few plays and right about the night before and morning before.  Maybe we can come out the gate on fire I can smell the smoke from here!!   Go Panthers
    • Only 26 years old, fills the biggest hole on our roster. Top 3 at his respective position, yeah fug it how often does a future HOF player become available in their prime?
