Best case scenario would be that OU wants him bc of B12 familiarity and there is a mutual parting of ways.  Tepper tells him to take the job to avoid getting fired and that he’ll release him from the contract so there is no buyout required.

Rhule may be here next year but I doubt he will make in through 2022. 
I see nothing on this team that says we will even be a playoff team next year. 
We don’t have a QB or OL. Our defense has been exposed and the holes are forming. We have no draft picks on day 2. 
2022 is shaping up to be another lost season before it even begins. 
I have no idea how this team will be a playoff contender in 2022. 
Also we don’t have as much cap space as we thought we were gonna have. 
This team is so screwed up.

I suspect much of his success comes down to Phil Snow and I say that as a Rhule supporter when we hired him. 
 

Rhule as a coordinator may not be very compelling. Perhaps the prize you get with hiring Rhule is that Snow comes with him.
