That's just not smart. Other than a handful of truly elite kickers in the league everyone else at the position is viewed as completely replaceable. They're obviously going to bring in other kickers and all it takes is for one to show a lot of promise for you to get told to hit the bricks and now you're just one of the guys being brought in somewhere else just hoping to win a job.

Also he is injury prone.

5 in the 2 year span you'd originally referenced.

The 40+ yarder was part of the ATL fiasco 2 years ago.

Last year he made 86% of his FGs and 85% of his XPs. That's good for 22nd and dead last in the NFL respectively.

You can say Kicker hasn't been a weakness but it sure as hell hasn't been a strength.

Now dude wants to hold out for more money? Good luck on your next venture. Theres a reason he was passed around the league before he landed here.

He had another 40+ XP against GB.

Eddie the last 2 years is 51/55 under 50 yards for Carolina.  That's pretty reliable FG kicker.  While being 7/9 from 50+ .   I mean, he isn't Justin Tucker.

BUT....his FG% is also #3 all time presently behind only Tucker and Butker.  It is what it is  and he is trying to leverage that against the worst team in the NFL.  He isn't a JAG kicker at this point in time.

he missed 1 FG under 50 all season last year.

he missed 2 FG under 50 the year prior

and made most of his 50+ both seasons

I think Pinero is just wanting off the worst team in the NFL.   Competitive teams are looking for a reliable kicker.  Seems like he is just playing that card.

He missed when it mattered..when the pressure was there…there is a reason he was available to begin with

the Panthers had very few games in which it did matter ..another player who could’ve made it better and didn’t

…I don’t see either Dan or Dave crying over him.

if he thinks he can do better, well he was looking for a job when he found this one.

…go and Godspeed

He was 21st in FG% and 38th in XP%.  Seems replaceable to me

Thicker kicker going to take his job. Apparently he posted a video showing he is at a beach somewhere. He's not good enough to be holding out and his former special teams coach is no longer here

89% on his career with 33 of 35 in 2022? That isn’t good?

    • Umm yeah. When did he get it done at the right time? I seem to remember a 4-6 finish and needing Atlanta to win our way into the playoffs but whatever.
    • I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
