Hmmm ...I wonder if AJ Bouye can play Free Safety? I say that because I really hope we get OL help in R2 and I know they liked R. Grant! I really don't want to wait to round 3 or later to start working on the OL.

You put Donte at nickel and Horn/Bouye outside. Our secondary is massively improved, which is very important.

Yeah, he sucks: (Think scheme versatility--why he was #1)

Man Coverage: 9.5/10 - Horn was simply ridiculous in man coverage. His ability to shadow any team's No. 1 receiver throughout a game was incredible on film and is easily his greatest strength entering the draft.

Zone Coverage: 9/10 - Despite being primarily typecast as a man-to-man corner, Horn showed excellent ability to thrive in zone coverage as well. This versatility should allow him to thrive in a variety of systems.

Press Coverage: 9.5/10 - Horn's primary alignment came in press, and he showed off excellent understanding for technique and execution in both the mental and physical aspects needed.

Off Coverage: 8.5/10 - While he didn't play out of off coverage much, Horn's versatility should make him viable in the alignment; however, Horn's skill set is unequivocally best utilized in press coverage.

Athleticism: 10/10 - Not only was Horn's film an absolute pleasure to watch, but his incredible Pro Day testing showed off a level of athleticism that could prove to yield immense upside.

Draft Grade: Top 10

Jaycee Horn is good at football. Like, really really good. He is one of the best corner prospects (if not THE best) since perhaps Jalen Ramsey in 2016.

Surtain was available... someone please tell me why we didn't pick him? Was he not rated as the best corner in the draft? He is from NFL bloodline too!! And his dad was a corner NOT a WR! WTF Panthers? Someone please tell me that other annalists thought Horn was better than Surtain. I watched Surtain play, the kid can ball... I didn't see Horn play I have to admit, either way, how does this make sense??

Horn was on an island as the SC DL was awful

surtain played behind the bama DL which was borderline nfl good

For the staff’s sake, they better hope Darnold is the answer because if he’s not, Tepper has a short leash.

Billionaires who own NFL teams don't have leashes.

Now Rhule and his crew?  Yeah, their leashes might start to tighten.  I won't say the GM cuz I think Rhule runs this show (as well as the GM being brand new.)

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
