He looked better on the second drive. His jumping around on the first drive made me nervous. Seemed a bit panicked at times.

It could just be me, but it seemed like he was just focusing on one side of the field on each play. I guess that is one way to help his decision making.

Mixed bag for me. Some good. Some bad. He was inches away from having 2 turnovers. Looked panicked under pressure. 
 

He throws a very tight ball though. You can see the arm talent. The touchdown pass to Robby was a big league throw. He got better after the first quarter. Seemed liked the nerves left  and he just settled in.

Tempered enthusiasm. Some bad decisions, didn’t see some open receivers, but not turrble, good arm talent/throws a good ball. I can see him continuing to improve. I’m definitely more encouraged than I was at 7:25.

He doesn't need to be Cam... He can be a Delhomme'sque kind of guy, may not have that Louisiana belly fire in him but if he can manage a game and press when needed then that is all this squad needs

He seemed to settle in as the game went along.

Other teams better come after the Panthers early in the season, 'cause once they get some stick time together, this is going to be a tough out for every team in the second half of the season.

The oline blows.  Darnold looks jumpy, but familiar with being that way.

I think he can win here if we keep him clean.

Encouraged. The OL blocked a lot better for him after the first two possessions and you could see him settle in. Gonna rewatch the game later to check out his footwork and how he worked thru his progressions, but so far so good

 

My one knock is he's gotta take that sack on the one play he was being spun and tried to fling it. That's leads to disaster the majority of the time

Encouraged, especially since we have some talented receivers now, and we haven't even seen the benefit of CMC with Darnold yet.

Encouraged but you can tell he has nerves and happy feet to work through. He also hesitates some of his throws like he has to double check to make sure someone is open before he throws it. I think he could be good when he gets settled though.

I think he’s gonna have a couple games where emotions are high and he gets pressure in his face and he’ll throw some picks. How he responds to that will say everything. 
 

I wouldn’t mind keeping PJ and Grier this year just in case he completely crumbles. I don’t want that to happen but if it does Walker has shown he can keep us competitive and we can answer some questions finally with Grier .
